Cubs sign Alex Bregman…The Chicago Cubs have just inked infielder Alex Bregman to a 175 million dollar contract for five years.Bregman,a former Boston Red Sox star, will headline a great Chicago Cubs lineup the boasts Pete Crow Armstrong and Seiya Suzuki.The Cubs tried to land Bregman last year but to no avail as the first baseman snubbed Chicago’s offer of 35 million for one year.Last season with Boston Bregman hit .299 and had 11 home runs and 35 RBI’s in a injury shortened season.

New England 10 Denver 7…The new era for Patriot football is ascendant in the NFL as Drake Maye and New England are going to the super bowl in Santa Clara in Febuary.The Patriots won due in large part to their stifling defense and the frigid weather in Denver.Drake Maye tied the game with a 6 yard scamper.Then Andy Borregales kicked a chip shot in the third quarter and that was all the offense New England needed in one of the lowest scoring AFC championship games of all time.The Patriots move on to play the Seahawks on Febuary eighth for the super bowl and perhaps New England’s seventh world title.

Illinois Illini 88 Purdue Boilermakers 82…The land of lincoln was smiling on Saturday after the Illini defeated the Purdue Boilermakers 88 to 82.Keaton Wagler the freshman phenom was superb after putting in 46 points many of them three pointers where he was fantastic and efficient to say the least.Braden Smith was the leading scorer for Purdue in a losing effort.The Illini were ranked eleventh but now look to rise in the polls.
