Cubs 8 Reds 4…The Great American Ballpark has much to offer Cincinatti,though the Reds floundered in their three game series with the Cubs losing two out of three.Matthew Boyd pitched 7 strong innings for the Cubs who finished strong heading to the all star break.Alex Bergman hit for four RBI’s including a three run homer that iced the game for Chicago.Pete Crow Armstrong will be in the summer classic representing Chicago this Tuesday night.

Cubs 9 Orioles 7…To quote the raven never more and that is what the Cubs accomplished by besting the Orioles,no more letdowns.The north side hit men got it done with a combination of small ball and power hitting.Pete Crow Armstrong hit two home runs in the victory.Carson Kelly also went yard for the Cubs.There was small ball on display as well but it is usually over shadowed by power hitting.The Cubs travel to Cincinnati to play the Reds this Friday.

Cubs 6 Cardinals 4…The consolation games are important because getting swept by a division rival is not a promising way to conduct a season.The Cubs defeated St.Louis 6 to 4 on Sunday with two RBI’s from their stalwart second baseman which writing assist will not let me mention…oy!The Cubs are now on their All star break starting today.
