The case for and against Bill Bellichek…Some people are strangers to reality,as my father once told me.There are a large group of football fans who think Bill Bellichek should have been elected on his first try to the pro football hall of fame.The former New England Patriots coach was turned down on his first attempt to enter the hall.Canton does not let everyone in.O.J. Simpson got in before the disgraced running back was accused of murder.Bellichek is not nearly as repugnant as mr. Simpson was ,but he is questionable when it comes to being inducted to Canton.First of all,to make a case for Bill Bellichek,he won the most amount of games in NFL history as a head coach.To make a case for not being inducted there was ” inflate gate” where the balls in a Patriots,Colts playoff game were surreptitiously inflated to give the Pats a edge in the AFC title game.Another strike against him would be the fact that Mr. Bellichek is dating a woman three times younger than himself.Yet another strike against Bill would be the fact that he is still coaching for North Carolina and has expressed a desire to return to coaching in the NFL.Other teams have also showed interest,thus making him a very questionable candidate for Canton.I feel the sportswriters made the correct choice in not selecting Mr.Bellichek on his first time to be inducted into the pro football hall of fame.
