The night was young for the Chicago Cubs on Saturday in Los Angeles as the north side hit men went on a rampage out slugging the Angels 12 to 1.Cade Horton went six scoreless innings for Chicago and Ben Brown picked up the save.Kyle Tucker hit two home runs giving him three in two games after a long drought.Reese Mcguire hit a grand slam as the young prospect had five RBI’s on the night.The Cubs play San Francisco following this series against the Angels.

Cubs 4 Angels 3…To live and die in LA was a movie the Cubs avoided as they brought out the brooms to sweep the Angels over the weekend.Small ball was the Cubs recipe for success as they nickel and dimed their way to a win.Kyle Tucker provided a spark for Chicago with a RBI and a run scored.Jameson Taillon pitched 5 and two thirds strong innings to earn the win.Danny “big thighs” as he is affectionately referred to shut it down for the Cubs who start a three game series with the Giants in Tony Bennet country starting this Tuesday night.

Cubs 4 Pirates 3… A win is a win as the old saying goes,so Javier Assad and the Cubs have much to be thankful for.The Cubs beat Pittsburgh 4 to 3 thanks to Carson Kelly who singled in a run and scored on a Dansby Swanson sacrifice fly in the eighth.Javier Assad got a no decision but pitched well enough to help the Cubs get by.Chicago plays the Brewers tomorrow night at Wrigley.
