U Conn 73 Duke 72…Comebacks are a source of excitement in sports and U Conn’s 19 point comeback over Duke was a thriller no doubt.Dan Hurley and his troops led a comeback charge that had even the announcers riveted and jumping in their seats.With a last second come from behind shot to win the game there could not be a better Hollywood ending for this game.Tarris Reed a forward for the Huskies scored 26 points and had nine boards to lead U Conn.Alex Hasfben led U Conn with 3 assists.Carlos Boozer led Duke with 27 points in a losing effort.U Conn takes on the Illini on Saturday in the final four of March madness.

Chicago Cubs 6 Los Angeles 2…Wrigley Field had a cold frigid environment in which to play today,though the Cubs provided plenty of small ball offense in their 6 to 2 victory this Wednesday.Matthew Boyd provided 6 strong innings of pitching yielding only two runs charged to him after being taken out with two outs in the sixth.Matt Shaw the night agent had two RBI’s and continues his stellar play.The Cubs play the Guardians on Friday at 3:00 p.m. central.

Illinois 71 Iowa 59…Oskie wah wah was the words of the day for the victorious Illini after they vanquished the Iowa Hawkeyes 71 to 59 this Saturday.Keaton Wagler did the job for Illinois scoring 25 points and providing 3 assists.Forward David Mirkovic was dominant for the Illini with 12 rebounds.Iowa guard Bennett Stirtz gave the Hawkeyes a boost leading them in scoring with 24 points in a losing effort.Illinois goes on to play UConn in the final four in Indianapolis Indiana.This is The first final four for Illinois since 2005 when they advanced to the championship game against North Carolina.

Arizona 79 Purdue 64…The valley of the sun was smiling even northward in Tempe.Arizona defeated Purdue 79 to 64 this Saturday due to the stellar play of forward Koa Peat.Koa added 20 points and got it done for the Wildcats.Center Motiejus Krivas hauled down 12 boards for Arizona.Jaden Bradley provided 6 assists for the Wildcats.Purdue center Oscar Cluff had 14 points for Purdue in a losing effort.Arizona now is going on to play Michigan this Saturday in the final four in Indianapolis Indiana.

Iowa 77 Nebraska 71…In the battle for Midwest supremacy Iowa has won round one and now awaits their next contender the Illinois Illini.Iowa defeated Nebraska 77 to 71 this Thursday with more stellar play from their backcourt, in particular Bennett Stirtz.Bennett led Iowa with 20 points as he has done quite frequently this year.Iowa guard Tate Sage led the Hawkeyes with 8 boards.Kael Combs led the Hawkeyes with 5 assists.Pryce Sandfort was money again for Nebraska scoring 25 points to lead the Cornhuskers albeit in a losing effort.Iowa goes to the elite eight for the first time in almost 40 years to play the Illini on Saturday.

Chicago Bulls 132 Houston Rockets 124…Times have been tough for the Chicago Bulls this season.On Sunday there was some relief however as the Bulls vanquished the Houston Rockets 132 to 124 at the United Center.Guard Collin Sexton led the Bulls in scoring with 25 points.Forward Leonard Miller led the Bulls with 9 boards.Josh Giddey led Chicago with 13 assists.Kevin Durant led Houston with 40 points in a losing effort.

New York Yankees 7 San Francisco Giants 0…Opening night has an air of excitement all its own.The New York Yankees brought that sense of excitement to the bay area and they procured their first win of the season a 7 to 0 wipe out of the Giants.Max Fried had six shutout innings and Giancarlo Stanton added a strong bat to help the Yankees take game one.Logan Webb struggled allowing six runs and was credited with the loss.Game two is scheduled for Friday at 3:35 eastern time.
