Michigan Wolverines 86 UCLA Bruins 56…The future looks bright for the Michigan Wolverines as tournament time is forthcoming.Big blue is 24 and 1 and on top of the AP polling.Saturday the Wolverines knocked off a top contender in the UCLA Bruins 86 to 56.Yaxel Lendeborg led the maize and blue in scoring and rebounding.Yaxel scored 17 points and hauled down 8 boards for Michigan.Elliot Cadeau a guard for the Wolverines had 5 assists.Trent Perry a UCLA Bruins guard led them in scoring in a losing effort.Michigan continues to roll as tournament time draws near.

Illinois Illini 71 Indiana Hoosiers 51…The corn is dormant in both Illinois and Indiana but the balling is torrid as the Illini defeated the Hoosiers 71 to 51.David Mirkovic led Illinois in scoring and assists as the young forward shot the lights out in Champaign.Ben Humichrous led the Illini in rebounding pulling down 8 caroms.Indiana’s Lamar Wilkerson led the Hoosier’s with 21 points.Illinois continues to impress as the tournament looms near.

Michigan 87 Northwestern 75…The stars must be in alignment for the Michigan Wolverines as they continue their magic carpet ride of a season in 026.In a 87 to 75 drubbing of Northwestern Michigan guard L.J. Cason topped the Wolverines with 18 points.Rock steady forward Yaxel Lendeborg led Michigan with 12 boards.Big blue center Aday Mara led with 7 assists.Northwestern guard Jayden Reid led all scorers with 20 points.Michigan has a taller task when they host the vaunted UCLA Bruins at 11:45 eastern on Saturday in Ann Arbor.

New York Knicks 138 Philadelphia 76’ers 89…It was a New York state of mind when the Knicks dump trucked the Philadelphia 76’ers 138 to 89 on Wednesday night.The Knicks nearly topped Philadelphia by 50 in this lopsided affair.Jose Alvarado led the Knicks with 26 points.Big Cat Karl Anthony Towns topped New York pulling down 11 boards.Josh Hart led Gotham with 9 assists on the night.The Knicks continue their run at returning to the NBA finals where they have been absent for nearly thirty years.

Iowa 76 Northwestern 70…The Hawkeye’s shot like their namesake in a clash of two big ten rivals.Iowa defeated the Northwestern Wildcats 76 to 70 using old school basketball and by hitting their three pointers.Guard Bennett Stirtz led all scorers with 36 points.Iowa’s Javion Banks pulled down 7 boards to lead the Hawkeye’s.There was also Alvaro Folgueiras with 3 assists for Iowa.Nick Martinelli led the Wildcats in scoring with 21 points in a losing effort.Iowa continues to go after a top twenty ranking in the AP polls.

Super Bowl 60…Seattle 29 New England 13…Bad Bunny stole the show in Super Bowl 60 as the halftime performer.The performers in the game took a while to come to life as the first half was a one sided battle of field goals dominated by Seattle’s place kicker Jason Myers who booted five on the day.Jason contributed 17 points in a game where the quarterbacks were roughed up to say the least.Sam Darnold had only one touchdown pass in the game and he struggled early on.There was a Seattle pick six when Devon Witherspoon took a Drake Maye pass to the house.Drake threw for two touchdowns late in the game though it was too little too late for the young signal caller as he was brought to the turf 5 times by the staunch Seattle defense dubbed the “black storm”. The San Francisco weather was splendid on a magnificent anniversary of the greatest day in American sport.

Michigan 82 Ohio St. 61…The facts of the matter about sports are simple, make the plays and generally you will win.The Michigan Wolverines certainly proved this maxim to be true when they trounced conference rival Ohio St. 82 to 61 this Sunday.Center Aday Maya led Michigan in scoring with 26 points.Yexel Lendeborg topped big blue in rebounds with 14.Elliot Cadeau led Michigan with 6 assists.Bruce Thornton of Ohio State led the Buckeyes in all three of these categories.Michigan continues their epic season as they have only been bested once this season.

Michigan 110 Penn St. 69…The Wolverines needed a laugher and they got one from the Nittany Lions.Point guard Nimari Burnett led all scorers with 31 points.Forward Morez Johnson led Michigan with 8 boards.Another Wolverine forward,Yaxel Lendeborg,was topps in assists with three.Freddie Dillione led Penn St. in points,assists,and rebounds not a bad performance for the number two guard in a losing effort by the Nittany Lions.Michigan who is 21 and 1 continues their epic season.

Borne out of desperation…The Chicago Bulls have now shown that they are in “full rebuild” as they have traded away the heart of their locker room.First they dealt Coby White to Charlotte for fellow guard Colin Sexton and four draft picks.Then center Nikola Vucevic was shipped out for guard Anfernee Simons.Then looking even more desperate the Bulls traded Ayo Dosunmo for guard Rob Leonard of Minnesota.Hopefully this is not a complete overhaul beset by the typical growing pains that are accustomed with such a measure.It seems this latest front office maneuvering with the Bulls is borne out of desperation after a tumoltuous losing streak over the last two weeks.
