Iowa 40 Nebraska 16…The regular season is nearly over and bowl games beckon for fortunate programs.Iowa is one of those fortunate one’s with a 8-4 season that concluded with a 40 to 16 win over their rivals the Nebraska Cornhuskers.Mark Gronowski threw for two touchdowns and ran for two more.The game started competitively with Nebraska running for a score and taking a early lead.Gronowski took control of the game after that and the Hawkeye’s never looked back.Now Iowa waits for their bowl game to be selected.

Illinois 20 Northwestern 13…The Land of Lincoln trophy also known as the hat was won by the Illini yesterday in a hard fought game between Illinois and Northwestern.Miles Scott made two interceptions late in the fourth quarter that were crucial for Illinois.One led to a field goal that put the Illini up 20 to 13 and another that iced the game for Illinois.Both Northwestern and Illinois are expected to receive upcoming bowl bids.

Iowa 20 Michigan St. 17…The football season has been fairly bright for the Iowa Hawkeye’s,although there has been some rough edges.After a two game losing streak Iowa has finally come around and that was shown to the nation in a 20 to 17 victory over the Spartans of Michigan State.Mark Gronowski threw a 13 yard TD pass in the fourth quarter to tie the score at 17 all.Then Drew Stevens,Iowa’s place kicker,hit a clutch game winning field goal that sent the Hawkeye faithful into hysterics.

Michigan 24 Northwestern 22…Wrigley Field, the home of Babe Ruth’s called home run shot,saw Dominic Zvada slam another game winner home for a rival although this was with his foot.The Michigan place kicker booted 31 yard field goal to win for the Wolverines over a staunch Northwestern Wildcats team that fought hard.The Wolverines also got two rushing scores from Jordan Marshall as Michigan scored all from their ground game.Michigan travels to play Maryland this Saturday.

Chicago Blackhawks 3 Toronto Maple Leafs 2…The United Center is rocking this fall, but not just with sold out concerts there are the Blackhawks who are making noise in Chicago.This past Saturday Colton Dach scored the game winner for the Hawks in a 3 to 2 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs.Spencer Knight made 31 saves for Chicago as they and Connor Bedard are the talk of the town.The Blackhawks host the Seattle Kraken on Thursday at the United Center.
