USA women’s team 2 Canadian women’s team 1 (OT)…The USA can now breathe a sigh of relief.One major goal was accomplished as the U.S. women took the gold medal after defeating Canada 2 to 1 in overtime in beautiful Milan.Kristin O’neill scored first for Canada in the second period.Hilary Knight tied it up completing a terrific Olympics for the team USA captain.Megan Keller capped it off with a overtime goal that cinched it for the USA.

Northwestern Wildcats 78 Maryland Terrapins 74…When you are down that’s where you’ll stay is a line from a old rock song but the Northwestern Wildcats did not adhere to this sentiment on Tuesday when they defeated a conference rival in Evanston at their home base.Forward Nick Martinelli led the cats with 29 points.Wildcat guard Angelo Claravino topped the home team with 5 rebounds.Jake West led the cats with 7 assists.Maryland guard Andre West led all scorers with 39 points in a losing effort for the Terrapins who are languishing at 10 and 16,and are near the bottom of the big ten.Northwestern has a similar distinction at 11 and 16,they too have struggled quite often this season.

Illinois Illini 101 USC Trojans 65…Caleb Williams thought he would go to a great basketball game featuring his beloved Trojans,all he got was a wipe out city perpetrated on the boys from California.Illinois decimated USC leaving no doubt as to who was superior.The Bears quarterback was crestfallen as the Illini shot the lights out amidst the California night.Andres Stojakovic led Illinois with 22 points.Forward Jake Davis topped the Illini with 7 boards.Guard Kylan Boswell led Illinois with 8 assists.The Illini take on the Bruins in sunny California before they battleb the number one ranked Wolverines of Michigan.The season is heating up as the nation gears up for March Madness.

Iowa Hawkeyes 57 Nebraska Cornhuskers 52…A game sparse in scoring can be entertaining just ask the Iowa Hawkeyes.On Tuesday Iowa prevailed in a gritty contest between two heated rivals with the Hawkeyes topping Nebraska 57 to 52.The Iowa backcourt had most of the credit in this game with guard Bennett Stirtz leading in points with 25,and topping the Hawkeyes tallying 2 assists.Their other guard Tavion Banks led Iowa with 10 rebounds.The Cornhuskers were led in scoring by fan favorite Pryce Sandfort with 13 points.Iowa and Nebraska are both contenders to each secure a berth in the final tournament of 64 teams affectionately known as March madness.

Michigan Wolverines 91 Purdue Boilermakers 80…They say perseverance is a key to success.This year the Michigan Wolverines are the poster boys for persevering.When big blue beat Purdue 91 to 80 earlier today they showed that Michigan is the standard bearer for the big ten.Eliot Cadeau led the maize and blue in scoring with 17 points.Forward Morez Johnson jr. led the Wolverines in rebounding with 11 rebounds.Michigans other starting forward Yaxel Lendeborg topped the Wolverines with 7 assists.Purdue forward Trey Kaufman Renn led the Boilermakers in scoring with 27 points.Michigan continues to dominate on this epic season.

Iowa 80 Nebraska 67…In Iowa boys and girls learn about farming,Midwest values,and about hoops.The Iowa women’s team learned all these concepts at a young age especially balling.Iowa defeated Nebraska on Sunday 80 to 67 with red hot shooting and old school fundamentals.Ava Heiden a Iowa center led the Hawkeye’s in scoring and rebounding with 27 points and 11 rebounds respectively.Guard Chazadi Wright led Iowa in assists with 7.The Cornhusker’s were led in scoring by guard Britt Prince with 13 points.Iowa and Nebraska are both gearing up for the coming of March Madness.

Michigan Wolverines 86 UCLA Bruins 56…The future looks bright for the Michigan Wolverines as tournament time is forthcoming.Big blue is 24 and 1 and on top of the AP polling.Saturday the Wolverines knocked off a top contender in the UCLA Bruins 86 to 56.Yaxel Lendeborg led the maize and blue in scoring and rebounding.Yaxel scored 17 points and hauled down 8 boards for Michigan.Elliot Cadeau a guard for the Wolverines had 5 assists.Trent Perry a UCLA Bruins guard led them in scoring in a losing effort.Michigan continues to roll as tournament time draws near.

Michigan 87 Northwestern 75…The stars must be in alignment for the Michigan Wolverines as they continue their magic carpet ride of a season in 026.In a 87 to 75 drubbing of Northwestern Michigan guard L.J. Cason topped the Wolverines with 18 points.Rock steady forward Yaxel Lendeborg led Michigan with 12 boards.Big blue center Aday Mara led with 7 assists.Northwestern guard Jayden Reid led all scorers with 20 points.Michigan has a taller task when they host the vaunted UCLA Bruins at 11:45 eastern on Saturday in Ann Arbor.
