Demond Wilson the life of the prodigal son by Pat J.Brown…Demond Wilson persevered.Even with his on screen father,the ornery Fred Sanford,Demond took his insults in stride.The unfortunate insult “big dummy” was bandied about constantly by the late Redd Fox who delighted in calling his son that.In reality nothing could be further from the truth.Demond was an author,actor,and a soldier in the U.S. army during Vietnam.Demond was awarded the purple heart for being wounded in action.Demond was married to Cicely Johnson for 51 years and they had six children.Grady Demond Wilson,his full name,also starred in a remake of the Odd couple as Oscar Madison opposite Jonathon Harris of Barney Miller fame.Oscar was the sporstwriter who clashed with his ultra clean roommate Felix Unger.Demond Wilson Jr. his son called his father a great man.Somewhere in the heavens Fred and Lamont are collaborating on a great scheme.Rest easy Demond.

Chicago Bulls 125 Miami Heat 118…South Beach was rocking on Saturday night with the Bulls and Ayo Dosunmo shooting out the lights against the Miami Heat.The “magic city” loves great scoring and the Bulls did not disappoint with precision shooting and great play making.Ayo led all scorers with 29 points.Dosunmo also led the Bulls with 9 assists.Matas Buzelis led Chicago with 8 rebounds.Pelle Larson led Miami with 22 points.The Bulls stay in Miami to take on the Heat in a rematch on Sunday at 5: 00 P.M. CST.

Seattle 31 Los Angeles 27…Sam Darnold has proven there are second acts in American life as the journeyman quarterback has now led the Seattle Seahawks to the super bowl in his first year with the team.Darnold threw for three touchdown passes in the win out performing Matthew Stafford who just came off an epic performance in a win over the Bears in frozen Soldier Field.Seattle goes on to play New England and Drake Maye in a classic showdown of rifle armed quarterbacks in super bowl sixty.

Bill Belichek snubbed by Hall of Fame comittee…Bill Belichek did not get the required amount of votes to enter the pro football hall of fame in Canton.Many believe that it was his former illegality in football that caused the snub.In reality however the fact that he is trying to go in as a coach and not a player hindered his entry.He ( Belichek) may coach again and that was the likely reason for the snub.

Michigan Wolverines 75 Nebraska Cornhuskers 72…The cornfields are frozen this time of year and Nebraska looks towards it’s hardcourt heroes to warm them up.Unfortunately it was the Michigan Wolverines who prevailed in their most recent contest.The Wolverines were on point with precision shooting and play making.Morez Johnson junior led Michigan with 17 points.He (Morez) also pulled down 12 boards for the Wolverines.Elliot Cadeau a point guard for Michigan,led in assists with seven.Pryce Sandfort led the Cornhuskers with 20 points in their 75 to 72 loss to the Wolverines.On Friday the Wolverines play Michigan State in a state rivalry that dates back to over a century ago.

Iowa 73 USC 72…The Iowa Hawkeyes know about close calls and in their recent game with the Trojans they experienced a nail biter.Bennett Stirtz led Iowa with 20 points as the young guard is having a breakout season.Kael Combs led the Hawkeyes in assists.In USC’s 73 to 72 loss Kam Woods led the Trojans with 33 points.Iowa’s next game is on Saturday against Oregon one of the more difficult dates on the Hawkeye’s schedule.

Cubs sign Alex Bregman…The Chicago Cubs have just inked infielder Alex Bregman to a 175 million dollar contract for five years.Bregman,a former Boston Red Sox star, will headline a great Chicago Cubs lineup the boasts Pete Crow Armstrong and Seiya Suzuki.The Cubs tried to land Bregman last year but to no avail as the first baseman snubbed Chicago’s offer of 35 million for one year.Last season with Boston Bregman hit .299 and had 11 home runs and 35 RBI’s in a injury shortened season.
